Lightbulb Fast Forward/Skip Track button on steering wheel?

Is there a way to get a Fast Forward/Skip Track button on the M4 steering wheel like on the old M3? Maybe coded onto the left side?

BMW literally chose the furthest button from the driver for this function

I'm curious on this too. The stupid cruise control could have been somewhere else.

Have you tried the the scroll wheel on the right hand side of the steering wheel to choose the song? Two step process, scroll and depress wheel, but it is there.

Yeap, thats how mine is. I scroll the wheel on the right side and the songs pop up on the hud, scroll to next song or scroll to the skip or previous button.
Have you tried the wheel on the right, left is for cruise control....which should have been on the right hand side, but oh well.

I use that one also. I'm looking for a true 'hold to fast forward' or 'press to skip to next random song'. Like the button on the far right does

Digging up an old thread to see if anyone has looked into this. I would love to reassign the scroll wheel to do volume (seems more natural to me) and the + and - buttons to do track up and down.

If you are shuffling music it won't be the next shuffle. Just the next song, so not quite the same. It irritated me at first, but I'm over it. I figure it's just another BMW quirk. Just like the signal and wiper stock. Those confused the F out of me at first, lol.

I'm with you on this. One thing I did notice is that if you're using an iPod, the iPad itself is doing the shuffling, so when you scroll up one, it is actually a random song. So one click up and a press would actually skip to a random song. Didn't work like this with my USB stick.

Good to know.

I use a 500GB hard drive, so yeah it doesn't work that way for me
