Battery

Anyone on here change their batter yet? My car is a 2010, built 09/2009 so over 5 years on the original battery. Lately I have been driving a lot shorter trips, 15 miles max for 20 minutes with lots of start ups and stops.

I've been getting increased battery discharge warning. It is cold out so those short stops require more battery discharge like heated seats and steering wheel as well as glow plugs.

I would suggest getting a battery charger/desulfator, I got one cuz I kept getting the discharge light, it has made a night and day difference, I used to have the radio on for like 2 minutes before the light came on, I had the radio on for 40 minutes yesterday before the light came on. I got the batteryMINDer model 1500

Garage List
Make sure the cells are full; check and top off with distilled water. I have a 2009 with 57k miles and original battery - checked the battery last summer and the electrolyte was low. I topped it off and so far no warnings of any sort.

Just replaced mine, 2010 with 60k miles. Went with a Bosch Platinum Series AGM Battery Group Size H8/L5/49 (4 year free replacement). Pepboys was running a special, 25% off or up to $50 with any purchase over $100. That plus the $15 back with core return brought the price down quite a bit. I used my BMWhat app to register the battery. Just and FYI, this battery was longer than the original and a very tight fit. Kind of a pain doing it by yourself.
