What Service???

Hi Folks,

This is my first post, finely got the Beemer, had lots of problems getting one,
at the local dealer the salesman said he would call back, that was in November,
so I got one 60 miles away, very good service, had problems with the transfer
of a private number plate. When I picked up the car I asked the salesman when
the next service was, he said `8000 miles'.

Got into car this morning and the car says `SERVICE' ..

So, got the wife to call the salesman who wasn't interested and put her over
to the service dept. The Service Manager was very good, told her to go to our local dealer and they will pay for everything including a loan car, my question is that the iDrive says it a `Break Service' that is required, what is this?.

One last question??, want to put a Nokia Bluetooth kit in the car, and if I
get a `telematics' adaptor lead, I have seen on here how to take the radio
out in a car without the iDrive, but can't find anything about a car with the iDrive.

Ok, the car I have is a 2006 330i M Sport, Auto, Nav/TV, Xenons, Leather.
This is my first BMW, and am very impressed at the moment.

The telematics version of bluetooth is for use with the sat nav system. You would be better off just getting a Parrot CK3100 unit instead. Car Communications does one installed in your particular model for £199. Also, the BMW system has a relatively small number of phones that are fully compatible with it and yours might not be one of them. The Parrot works with all bluetooth phones.

Mine, a Nokia 8800 doesn't work with the BMW system at all but everything works with the Parrot.

P.S. There is a U.K. forum on this web site which is more useful sometimes because of product differentials between the two countries.

Just an FYI

Bimmers = Cars

Beemers = Motorcycles
