First Photo's-BMW X4 M40i Spied Testing in USA-Series Production Confirmed

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Here you go. First "Real" Spy Photo's of the BMW X4 M40i High Performance version of the F26 X4. The collage comparo shots vs a supposedly Euro Spyshot of the X4 M40i and a comparo vs the standard X4 M Sport model. Maybe...maybe not....on the Euro Spyshots...at best the Euro Spyshots are a Drivetrain/Powertrain test mule. These Spyshots are the Real Deal Preproduction Tester.....The fact that BMW put these cars in full button down camo is all you need to know. The fact the car is now testing in South Carolina....confirms Series Production of the X4 M40i. Trying to rundown additional info...possible manual transmission and whether xDrive remains on X4 M40i. Slight bodywork tweaks on X4M40i vs standard X4 M Sport and different Front Air Intakes on my photo's vs standard X4 M Sport Model and supposedly Euro Spyshots.... and dead giveaway....Split side exhaust on the X4M40i vs left side twin Euro exhaust on the standard X4 M Sport. Thanks. PalBay.

Other M40i info and look posted earlier by BIMMERPOST:

The upcoming X4 M40i has now been spotted without camouflage. While not a full blown M model, this X4 has been tweaked by BMW M just like the M135i, M235i, X5 M50d, and M550d "M Performance Automobiles."

And like the other M Performance Automobiles, the X4 M40i will receive the full M Sport treatment (aero kit, wheels, brakes, interior) along with a sportier suspension and chassis.

But, the X4 M40i is particularly important because our upcoming models info shows that it will be powered by a new reworked N55 3.0L turbo six engine (N55B30T0) producing around 370-380 PS (365-375 HP), which will also power the BMW M2 when it arrives in early 2016.

The X4 M40i begins production December 2015.

are we sure this is the M40i and not the next gen X4?

next gen X3 was just caught testing as well and that has split exhausts...

Am I correct that X4s are rolling around the US as we 'speak'? I see an X4 almost everyday while commuting in the Bay Area... I never knew they existed until I saw it.

Sat in one months back & the rear seats space is not that impressive. It's also as if the Prius styling is en vogue.

Call me crazy but I see no difference from X4 M-Sport in these pictures other than the dual sided exhaust. Front facia looks exactly the same to me.

Yeah, we've had a couple in our showroom for a month at least.

You forgot to blur out the faces of the drivers in the sideview mirrors!

The dual-sided exhaust and what looks like some kind of plastic brow along the top of the front intakes are the only two differences I could spot too.

Seems cool, but the interior is gonna be a carry-over design from the X3 (like standard X4), which is basically 5 years old. Hard to get that excited about a "new" vehicle that is already going to look outdated inside, compared to newer designs like the F15, etc.

Really? I've yet to see one besides when I went to the dealership.
I think they should just skip this and straight to X4M.

Hopefully we can retrofit that...

Do you think the X4 M40i will be lying a bit lower than the "normal" X4 M Sport?
@ Palbay: Will there be new wheels for the X4 M40i?

Isn't Audi coming out with the new Q5 remodel for 2016?
