Hands free Mic not working
I installed a Combox into my 335d and got it all coded. However now my hands free mic isn't working. Help!
The only change I made to the CIC itself was to install an emulator. Someone mentioned that it could be pin 21,23 on the back of the CIC unit but I checked and I don't have those. This leads me to believe mine is over MOST. I have tried coding to use 1 mic over FZD as well as 2 mic over FZD, both set as mic over MOST. No luck either way. What else do I need to look at? Is there another setting I'm missing? |

The combox replaced a MULF and a TCU and the person I got it from also gave me a harness to just plug things in. So I have the plug into the combox that Ys to hook to the other two connectors.
The only solid blue wire is in the plug that used to go to the TCU. And on that pin, there is nothing in the harness to the combox. If I'm looking at the right things. Everything else seems to be working so hoping I don't need to repin things. |

Thanks. What is the best way to get to the mic to check? I have a feeling that the pin outs on the combox harness are incorrect. I'm going to look that up and then see what i need to do. But would like to confirm at the other end.

You may need to look at the mic wiring at the passenger footwell. Need to re-pin the connections. I'm not sure if this pertains to LCI vehicles as wiring sets may be different.

Ok, figured it out! The connector from the Combox to the TCU connector wasn't fitting properly. It was the yellow wire, pin 1 for the TCU to pin 25 for the Combox, that was coming loose. A clip on the adapter is letting the wire block slide back out, so trusty zip ties to the rescue! I'd prefer to replace the connector but it works and no one can see it...
Should anyone else stumble on a similar problem, here are some links to threads about the wiring: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=723325 http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=772784 Thanks for all the input to get looking in the right place. |
