I actually went with Salem. Approx. $2k under MSRP. Didn't like my experience at Kuni or Portland. I wear t-shirts, shorts, flip flops EVERYWHERE. After being ignored for 20 minutes in both places I left. Salem experience has been great to date.

I purchased my car from Salem dealer as well. They have a good service and always keep in touch with their customers. I have no complaints about them.

Any local gatherings ever get organized? Would like to meet up with the local owners and compare notes and resources for future mods. Very curious if anyone does any local coding.

We've bought 10 cars from David Pad over at BMW Portland. Him and Yazen the GSM are stand-up guys! Just say Tj referred you.

Previous BMW was with Kuni but my experience in trying to order new M3 was bad and will no longer go back. Ended up ordering from Seattle BMW because I got best price but PDX BMW was close to getting my money. Salem BMW is probably closer for me than Kuni anyway but Salem is where I plan on going for service.

I have my service done at PDX but I purchased my M4 from Salem. Previous bad experience with Kuni on a trade in, C6 Z06. They were rude and condescending. I swore I'd never buy a car from them ever. 3 BMW's later, their loss but I doubt if they care.

Just ordered my SS M4 from Dave. Top notch guy -- straight up with the numbers, gave me the best deal by far in comparison to BMW of Seattle, Bellevue and Kuni.
The entire thing was done with a 2 min conversation over phone, a few texts and a few emails. He even said he would teach me how to drive a manual (I ordered a 6MT w/o knowing how to drive one ) Highly recommended!

Interesting. The guys at Salem lied me that they have allocation while they don't. Also they didn't wanna take off any more than 2k off MSRP for an M4. They even said I need to bring my social security card (what?) and paystub to just put deposit down. Three guys at the place told me that..so I think they all suck.
For Portland and Kuni, I only talked to one or two guys each so I can't generalize such thing. I got my M4 for $1000 above invoice from Kuni and so far so good. |

I find dealer hunting and dealer bashing interesting, not because of how excited we get when something good comes out of it, or how disappointed we get after a deal falls through, but because of the great conflict of interest that lies therein.
We wan't to buy a fancy sports car, way below MSRP, possibly even below invoice, but at the same time, want to be treated as gods the minute we walk in. I find this a mutually exclusive situation in almost all cases -- one can walk in, pay over MSRP, no hustling, and be the "best" customer a dealership can have. Or one can be that guy, who wants to discount every dollar he/she can but still wants business in a top-notch fashion. The middle ground, I find, is to be patient and respectful. Work on maintaining a relationship with the Client Advisor, the finance guy, the GM. Be a nice guy in general. Dealerships and the folks that work there deal with all sorts of people 12 hours a day, 7 days a week -- some are ideal cash splashing clients, some are deal hustlers, some wander to simply test drive fancy cars with no intension of ever buying it, some come in for free coffee, some have no clue what they are doing, some are nasty stupid, so on and so forth. To expect the dealership to spot you, gauge you, and make you happy within minutes of walking in, or over the phone is only hampering your chances of walking away with a good deal, or ever having a good relationship with the dealer. I have never walked in to any dealership that treated me badly -- from the ones people write horror stories about, to the ones applauded in here. It surprises me that BMW Portland is being bashed here. I just got my 10th car, and my 4th BMW. This was my first time at Portland and it was by far the best experience. Did I have to wait longer than 10 minutes? Possibly. Maybe even longer. But do I care? No. Because my CA (David Padgalskas) took care of me like a pro from day one. They kept my car at the dealership for more than a month after it was delivered when I had to travel outside the country on short notice - no questions asked. Even on delivery day, when I took the train from Seattle, I was picked up on a fancy X6M, and the whole paperwork process was butter smooth - just confirmation of the deal we had discussed months prior and that was it, no insurance up selling, no extended warranty spiel. I also had friends with me, and was planing on hanging around in downtown Portland for a bit. I was offered an X5 to drive around because I didn't want to take my new M4. In the end, I took the train to get a better feel for downtown Portland, the tickets of which were also complimentary! Oh, and my deal, was not even remotely close to MSRP and better/on par with any deals posted we see posted on the deals section. Of course, your mileage may vary -- with service and with the negotiation. But my point is, these guys are there because they like what they do, and they want to help you get your dream car. How well that happens, is largely dependent on you as well. tl;dr; People bashing BMW Portland in here surprises me. How well a dealer treats you is also dependent on you -- be humble, be patient. If you are looking for a new ride in the Northwest area, talk to David Padgalskas and tell him Utsav sent you. He will take care of you. I'll be happy to give his email/phone if you PM me. Cheers!

This thread is funny because everyone here keeps saying how great this David Pad is from BMW of PDX...didnt realize people were abbreviating his last name haha ...he sold me my car too and although shipping/transport hasn't taken a long time, the only thing I expect from my CA is good communication and he does that very well...he is very attentive to your needs and I would another BMW from him again....he also gave me a very fair price and even searched for the car I wanted and found it out of state...lastly, he worked late on his birthday to secure me my car.

I've shopped the following dealerships looking for an F80 - Kuni, BMW of Portland and BMW of Salem. So far all are pretty competitive and not willing to offer more than $3k off MSRP. Kuni has the most inventory and has approx 3 allocations for March. Portland has none until May and Salem claims to be able to "get" an allocation from another store. All have been very easy to work with and responsive.
I've also reached out to Bellevue and Seattle. Bellevue doesn't have any allocations and Seattle claims that the Seattle market is selling at MSRP. I'm still working with them to see how low they're willing to go. A former CA in Bellevue told me to try higher volume SoCal and AZ dealers as they have more allocations and possibly better pricing. I hope to stay local and spend my $ here in PDX. Will keep you all posted. If anyone has any suggestions for April/may allocations with good pricing, I'd appreciate any insights.

Went through Dave Padgalskas of PDX. Was able to get a great price for an M3 in this area. He was nice, upfront, and even let me know of the upcoming Competition Pack before it was too publicly known (which I ordered). My M3 just finished production and is on its way to the port of exit.
