Sorry to hear that OP. That's the exact reason why I have a dash cam. A dash cam would have caught that without troubles and you wouldn't have been as upset.
Good luck with it. Ask neighbours, someone may have seen something |

OP, feel for you - hope someone saw something and got the registration of the car that hit yours. |

so thats where im at. i guess its only metal but i feel more emotional now than i did when my legs was blown off 2 years ago. crazy what these bimmers do to you ey! |

The car that hit OP must have driven down the street, so the dashcam would have picked it up before or after hitting OPs car, and the dashcam should have picked up the sound of the other car hitting OPs car, so one would know when it happened.

At the start I encountered most issues you've mentioned till i installed a separate battery (external hard drive size). The battery only charges when the ignition is on. When fully charged I can get 3-4 days of continues recording whilst parked. |

At the weekend went for coffee and parked the car on the street in a row of cars. The car behind me left the spot and a woman tried to get into the spot and hit the n/s/r bumper corner by going in too tight. The cam didn't show point of contact however, what the cameras showed was: Front camera showed the car approaching my car signalling, and slowing down to get into spot behind me. The rear camera showed the nose of the car as it goes in.. At point of contact, you can hear a loud bang noise from the voice recorder in camera. The car recorded number plates, time, speed which is sufficient evidence. The woman got out of her car and examined damage to my car and hers (recorded on camera) So yes there are blind spots such sides, but impact noise, vehicle movement at point of impact, vehicle approaching, getting away there's always something you can find. |
