My car is better than the train

I hate trains. They are dirty, make you sick and you have to mingle with other people.

I'm having a happy journey to Sheffield - can you tell?

I've been to Sheff a few times recently, one in all the snow up there. I got there. Train wouldn't have as ones I would have needed to get were cancelled!!! I would never use public transport unless there is no other way as its unreliable, full of people with germs and costs more.

Or I could sit in my comfy car chillin on ACC and listening to some booming tunes

I've got to say a couple of weeks ago I got the train from Peterborough to Edinburgh. Because we booked so far in advance it was 45 quid return in First Class.

It was excellent. Great service from the staff on board, constant tea and coffee refills, biscuits, sandwiches.

Far easier and more relaxed than driving all that way.

The missus and I are off to London in a few weeks, just for the day to do a bit of shopping and are getting the train, first class on an offer we booked a while ago.

We have done it before and I really enjoy it for a change, think it takes 2 1/2 hours from Manchester on Virgin, though would only go when we could get the 1st class on offer as it's this that makes the train enjoyable.

Yeah. We go down to London 2 or 3 times a year, weekend breaks. Book far enough in advance and it's £50 for the 2 of us. Takes just over 2 hours from Chester to Euston. I can barely get to Birmingham in the same time, traffic is usually that bad.

I hate public transport, while I do take train regularly to London (head office) just off Regents Park.

I actually had to get the bus the other day in to Wolverhampton....

Not only was that bad enough, but I actually had 'people' talk to me!!!!

It took me at least 3 days to get over it...

arrgh, the bus! Not been on one for 10 years or so (lucky me I know!)

My missus has to commute from Warrington to Sandwell and Dudley 3 times a week and hates it (not first class!) while I just tootle 20 mins to work in my motor

Nothing wrong with buses. You just need to use the correct ones. The little black ones are excellent as you can summon them on the street and they take you to exactly where you want to go. Compare and contrast with the large red ones (or whatever other colour they might be up North).

I prefer train over car going to London, from Glasgow. It takes 4.5 hrs by train, 7-8 hrs by car, no way I would harm myself going by car for a weekend.

Yeah I am ok with black ones, no problems and you don't have general riff raff next to you.

Just stare at their left ear and eventually they stop.

Top tip: on the train if you have a nice table to yourself and you stop at a busy station stare at everyone as the head for you and even pat the spare seat a little while grinning at them if they look like taking it..gauranteed to keep the table to yourself.

I have talking and muttering go myself work quite well.

The grin works well.

Unfortunately I am a weirdo magnet.

A bus?! You can sod right off!

I've been on a bus about 5 times (excluding airports etc) and used to cycle 15 miles each was to college just to avoid them!

I take the train a lot though, helps with PCP mileage!

I've paid £124 for Sheffield from London and another £59 for a travel card - I only do first class.

This week I've done Gloucester, Exeter, Southend and Sheffield and spent something like £500. The car meanwhile has stayed clean for the weekend!

I'm driving to Spain again in the summer so I need to bank a few miles!

Eh?

Assigned seat, wifi, guaranteed table, power socket, first class lounge, tea/coffee/food ok board for free, more space, quieter coaches, no riff raft....

Really...?
