I dont have the exact experience you are seeking but I did install KW V1s on my Audi S5. I LOVED the ride and handling! My only issue which seemed to affect some others was that the rear sagged much lower than the minimum drop they advertised. KW sent me spacers then a different spring which solved the issue but I am bit worried about this happening again on my 428i GC so I am on the fence. Its strange that the rear ride height issue does not impact everyone.

I've been riding on Street Comforts on my 13 F30 sedan now for about 2 months. Previously I had H&R springs. The difference was huge, I am super happy with how these coilovers perform and the comfort level that I regained from getting rid of the springs. Plus the adjustability is a nice perk.

@pbittner,
Thanks for the feedback. I am also interested in the adjustment range. - What was the final suspension height vs OEM ride height? I am looking to maintain OEM ride height as much as possible. |

Just an FYI for the guys looking to maintain OEM ride height or close to it. Bilstein makes a Comfort version of the PSS10 for the F30/F32 that drops the car between 10-30mm. The part # is
48-229012. This is what I am going to get once something is released for the F36.

Well, it's firmer than stock that's for sure but not to the point of being annoying/rough and vastly better than say just running springs on stock struts. I really like having the adjustable struts so I could make it as firm or soft as I feel like, even though it is a little bit of a pain adjusting the rear struts (requires removing the strut from the top mount or going through the liners in the trunk). Overall, I am extremely happy I went with the SC's for daily driving.

Just ordered KW Comfort Street coilovers for my 2013 F30 xDrive sedan from Turner Motorsports. AllShocks.com (a division of Turner Motorsports) sells this kit for $1589. The kit will be built in Germany with a lead time of 4-6 weeks. Will update this thread after installation.

KW Street Comfort coilover kit was installed today on my 2013 F30 335i xDrive with all four shocks set to 9 as recommended by KW. The height was set to maximum in order to approach OEM height as much as possible. No alignment needed.
Initial impressions are very positive. Will post another update after the suspension settles. The shop advised to me that coilovers may make some noises when the car goes over bumps but the noise is normal. |

I'm surprised KW recommended the rebound to be set to the 9 (that's the stiffest setting right?). Is the ride overly stiff in that setting?

In my instance, the installation was not done properly and another shop had to redo the entire process. At full suspension travel point (rebound), the spring should still be in a compressed state. If it's not, the spring will float and generate "clunk" sound. This is a very common scenario. Things to verify ... - Was the spring properly preloaded - Was everything properly torqued especially top nut (using an impact wrench during removal and installation is NOT recommended) - Is there a chance of spring bind? More about spring bind at https://raceland.com/news/what-is-spring-bind.html |
