Question for the coders: Anything in there about coding adaptive suspension?

In my ongoing investigations on suspension options I realise that I need to deal with the fact that an aftermarket option will make my adaptive suspension redundant and will indeed give me fault codes if not dealt with properly.

Options to deal with this so far are an Eiback plug in control unit to send the right signals back to the car, but these are £300.

So just wondering if it would be possible to solve this with a coding solution? I'm hoping that it would be feasible to re-code the car as if it was fitted with passive suspension from factory?

Appreciate any help or insight on this.

Hey Terry, good thinking.

Just a thought, have you tried unplugging one damper? I'm sure the plug is only connected to a PWM output powering the solenoid in the damper. You might get away with mounting a resistor across the outputs.

Not much around to help but this was posted on the BMW Coding forum mate:

"I have not done it but it should be doable. Remove all EDC-related option codes from FA and vo-code whole car."

You Could delete S2VFA (code for adaptive) from the VO, this may work, would have thought its the most likely place to start.

What I was going to suggest. It's where I'd start.

Ok, thanks. I have no idea what any of that means, but it gives me somewhere to start. Sounds like there is a good chance something can be found, otherwise £300 might be the difference between justifying doing it or not!

I've just got all the coding stuff set up on my macbook, just need to start trying stuff, but will try and get a beginners tutorial, try some basic stuff, before moving on to experimenting!
