It is a new light switch trim piece. I did the carbon fiber work. I have been doing CF work for several years. I have worked on about 50 BMWs over the last few years. I like doing pieces no one else does or BMW doesn't offer. To my knowledge this is the only one out there in real CF.

it is 2x2, but a 6k 12oz fabric. It is a nicer CF than is used on most CF pieces. ...here is some other trim I did in that same weight material. Most use a 3k 5.7oz material. I can do either and have both materials, but I prefer this weave.

Looks like really top notch work. I thought i saw some un-eveness on the upper region but I think that is due to the larger weave? Maybe you used to much vacuum power and it distorted the weave a little.

Looks really good though. Did you re-clear this or is that a polished resin?

Thanks...no uneveness...could be the picture. I don't see it. I always use automotive clear on the parts so they won't yellow and turn. All the stuff I use has UV protection in the resin and clear. I think I took this picture before I final wet sanded and polished it also.

I can do them in the smaller weave. I did a gear shift trim to match an E90 OEM trim and it matched perfectly. so if someone wanted more of the OEM look, I could do that as well. Here is a picture I did in the OEM weave, but did it like the textured CF trim in the new F3x series in matte finish.

I am trying to imagine what's around the switch now? Isn't it gloss blck trim or carbon fiber already? Can you make the same thing for the cup holder surrounds? I have CF steering wheel insert, console trim and shifter but the cup holder is still chrome and I hate it.

The light switch is the color of your dash. If you have black it will be a matte black light switch trim. If it is beighe like in some non M F3x cars, it will be beige. BMW does not make a carbon fiber light switch trim.

To do the cup holder trim, I believe the entire section that surrounds the cup holder would have to be done also unless the chrome for the cup holder is an insert and can come out.

you should post up in the non-classifieds interior area too that you might be doing this (if you haven't already)!

Are you guys saying the entire tray or just the chrome section around the cup holders themselves?
