I have been attempting to retrofit a combox to my E92. Car only has TCU I am told.

Pin 1 is matched to pin 1 of harness ,Checked wiring pinouts on the PNP harness I have and all is in this order:

TCU-----COMBOX
01 ----- 25
04 ----- 10
15 ----- 07
17 ----- 01
18 ----- 01
19 ----- 12
21 ----- 11
23 ----- 22
31 ----- 18
33 ----- 15
36 ----- 14
37 ----- 21
38 ----- 20
50 ----- 17

Am getting nothing from the combox at all. No red lights on the optical port when connecting power / left plugged in even with ignition on. No bluetooth signal either. Am unable to communicate with the module in NCS.

When I plug my old TCU in the red optical light comes on instantly, so power / fueses seem ok as far as I can tell. Do I have a dead combox or am I missing something here? Any other way to diagnose a dead combox before I spend £££ and source another!

Is this a telematics or media combox. If telematics which I assume since you connected so many wires, power goes to #2 on combox connection not #1.

Thanks for this. Looked at the wiring more closely and swapped pins around, the combox has life! Red light, but still my CIC keeps saying 'please wait' under bluetooth, or any other functions to do with the combox?

Tried rebooting the CIC but might be time to have another look at my coding I guess.

SOLVED!

Default coded MEDIA and then CIC. Everything working well after that.

I still have no connected drive / apps / internet. Tried to enable in the TRC file but options do not exist. I presume I need to update the CIC & combox to latest firmware.

Depends if you update cic to latest software you will need fsc for connecteddrive.
