Bloody yanks. Even in a straight line they have problems.
What did this tool do? Looks to me like DSC was off and he didn't have a clue what to do when it started spinning. Looks like (through no effort of his own) he just about managed to not knacker his entire underside. |

Similar thing happened to me in a rented F10 M5. Very warm dry day and I only had it in sport. (dsc and Dtc we as they should have been. Was going in a straight line up a very small incline at about 30mph. Floored it at the precise moment the OSR wheel was on a manhole cover. The rear snapped so violently I had to do opposite lock to correct it. Scared the crap out of me. Luckily the gap between me and the cars closest to me was big enough to avoid me whacking into any other cars. I have a feeling what the dude in the M4 describes and what happened to me is a "common fault" amongst the Fxx series. Funny thing is I have tried many a time to replicate it in the same place it happened to me in my E60 M5 and have never been able to. It only happened the once in the F10 and I couldn't get it to replicate what happened again after that incident. I would love to know what the actual cause of it is. |

There's a similar type of clip in you tube of someone in a gallardo doing the same kind of thing, except he goes in to a pile of cars waiting at the lights!

That's exaclty the one! For me that's even funnier than the M4 clip. That is crap driving of the highest order.
At least the BMW is a RWD with a load of torque that might catch you out, but the Gallardo is AWD and naturally aspirated, so you really do need to be a clumsy oaf to do that in the dry. I know it has a lot of power, but it does take a fair bit of incompetence to manage that.
