Front splitter and rear diffuser

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of these?

That splitter is pretty good value. Of course he could just be buying in bulk from 3A Motors in Taiwan (which is where I was looking).

Just wondered if it was too good to be true.

The compatibility checker says the splitter won't fit a 335d msport

Erm, yep it does on page two! Besides all M Sport's are the same on front end regardless on engine.

I didn't look at the pages, I used the drop downs.

I did think it was strange given they show it on an msport bumper, probably just a glitch.

I'm tempted by the front splitter, but I need to know that it would fit properly before ordering.

I'm tempted at those prices, even if it does get scraped every week.

With that in mind, a couple of questions for anyone with a front splitter of any kind...

1. If it catches, does it deform and get pushed up and then spring back in to shape ok?

2. From a damage perspective, how is the standard matt black PP material when it is scraped- just black all the way through? If so then I guess it wouldn't really be too noticeable underneath?

This was my thinking Terry - at that price, it's pretty cheap anyway. My current front end is scratched but you can only see it if you get down on your knees. If you did make more of a mark, bit of wet and dry and probably you'd be pushed to notice.

Think I'm probably going to order one and then we'll all know!

I am in talks with a guy in Germany who is hopefully selling me 4 x genuine M-Performance splitters. Could save someone a few hundred pounds as I will be selling them for £375 delivered.

Anybody have the splitter in EB with just the lower lip left black?

Also, if you removed this at a later date would you then need to have the original m sport repainted or repaired to cover holes and adhesive etc?

There's picture on one of the U.S. Forums Terry. Put Performance splitter into search - it's in one of the top results.

You'll leave some holes underneath. It uses 8 existing holes (4 screw and 4 plastic rivets).

Bought. Nothing ventured and all that.... Not done diffuser as I prefer 3a Motors one without pressing for cutout on RHS and besides, not much difference in price. Waiting until Tengo comes back on exhaust though....

my 2 cents would be PP front splitter will bend and flex more and will deffinatly resist a good few bangs and scrapes.

fibreglass gp has a tendancy to just break or shatter so a knock could quickly diminish any savings your trying to make. there are some who will sell you an aftermarket PP part at good prices

So is it just fixed by these screws underneath? the part that goes over the exisitng section to the sides below the air intake, does any adhesive get used there?

I have venture shield on my car already and whilst I dont mind paying £150 to give this a go, I'm just wanting to know what it will be like if I decide to remove it.. don't want to have to repaint it or anything! Holes underneath that can't be seen would be great.

I have just bought one of these of one the guys on forum,i haven't fitted it yet but yes you are rite most of the the holes already line up and its double sided tape around the air intakes.I am waiting to collect the rest of the bits for mine and going gloss black but a pal of mine who is going to spray and fit will use black under coat, so if it does get a scrape or chip it wont look as bad as grey primer...

Interesting to read that they say if you fit the front splitter then you really should add the spoiler or diffuser... so is there really some sort of functioning aerodynamic qualities to these items?!

If so then why do you need to add rear if you do front, but not the other way round?
