Must make a decision soon

Well, I need to make a decision before the end of the month:-

1. Sizeable discount on a 330d xDrive M Sport Touring

2. An S3 Sportback

3. Nothing & wait for now maybe 6 or 12 months....

BMW & Audi have both been decent enough at helping to offset the negative equity I have.

If anyone is in East Midlands and torn Sytner Leicester keen to sell before end March!

I'm usually so decisive when it comes to changing cars.

Garage List
S3 Sportback and 330d Tourer are completely different cars size wise. S3 and M135i maybe but the 3 series is a A4 rival...

If you wait for the LCI, BMW will remove the finance contribution when released with out doubt.

I'd wait until some of your negative equity recovers.

I moved from an A3 to the BMW and the fact that the 1 series wasn't available with xDrive and an Auto box ruled it out , but the deal I got on the bigger 3 series ruled it in!

Now of course 1 series available with both in 2.0d guise, but I fancy more power. Really don't need anything as big as the 3 series so A3/1 series size fine.

LCI may mean lower discount - but may mean better quality and higher spec as standard?

I am in a similar position, looking at a 320d Touring at the moment and Leicester are very very competitive. I think I have moved to the wait position as the new B47 engines will probably come with the LCI as on the LCI 1 Series. Probably not going to bring the new engines to the 330d this year.

New 3 litre diesels not being released this year from what i've read so it's just the LCI updates that are unknown. I can't see too many physical changes occurring but you never know in terms of spec!

So am I right in understanding that AWD and good acceleration are the key attributes you desire?

Size, fuel economy and handling are somewhat secondary?

Key attributes yes - I like AWD, yes and the Auto gearbox is important and I would like something with a bit more power than I have.

As for the secondary aspects i'm keen to weigh them up against each other. S3 handles better than a touring and is more nimble but running costs are higher. I actually think both handle well though. As for size an A3 / 1-series is about right for me but a good deal brought the 3 series into the equation. I wouldn't like to have something that regularly got less than 30mpg ideally - or at least something you couldn't CHOOSE to get more than 30mpg with at least!
