Clarkson quits TG

That's it.

No more.

Last one out, turn off the lights.

The communist BBC got their way.

Can I apply for a licence fee reduction?

Quits.....or sacked.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the show in general, but I can't believe so many people have wasted time on this.

It'll be tomorrow's chip papers soon enough thankfully.

I thought clarkson's hearing was this week?

Mind you, having been compared to saville and effectively called a pedo, accused of hitting the producer when it was probably just shoving/pushing, told that he should go into rehab and has lost it ..... I wouldn't be surprise if sued the a*rse off the bbc.

I think the licence fee will now increase - with 350m less viewers and £50m/pa less coming in for topgear.

I hope do hope clarkson, hamster, captain slow and indeed the producer (since his career is probably ruined) go over ITV and make a similar show once a week every week.

I think the bbc DG hopes the show will go on without clarkson. This may happen, but other big stars have gone over to ITV and made it even bigger.

I wouldn't be surprised if JC intentionally (or perhaps subconsciously) precipitated this. The show format was struggling to find the originality that it once had, with some of the fun more forced than in its heyday. He'll do something new and fresh within a year. Maybe follow in Harris' footsteps and use the internet as his platform.

Yes all of them are up for renewal - they were just about to sign a 3 year deal.

+1 Truly amazing this continues to be "news" and such high profile. It's just TV and a TV presenter. Top Gear to Flop Gear then...!

Why?

It's a very popular show, if it goes a lot will miss it. It's more newsworthy than Rooney goofing off, pictures of a celeb's cellulite or the latest soap story.

This is predominantly a car forum, whose members invariably like all things mechanical.

Therefore, a presenter of a show with cars in it, is likely to be discussed a fair bit.

However we pretty much never discuss that bunch of homophobic racists, also known as footballers, who as role models pretty much fail on every single level.

So yes there will be a lot of discussion about TG, JC and replacement presenters.

Also, someone mentioned Eastenders , a show with one of the highest number of celebs caught or admitting Class A drug use, however, still in show or allowed back in. Same with musicians, numbers caught in possession of class A etc, both lots are let off due to pressure of their work - bollox. Jail them and ban them from radio / TV.
