Engine Malfunction Sign

I need some help, I have a 2011 535i(less than 40k miles), I was driving home last night and the engine malfunction sign showed up along with engine will not restart after stop and also the car was operating at reduction power. I made it home( about 30 miles) once I pulled into my drive way, I turned the car off waited a minute and restarted( the car cranked and took a few seconds to start) any comments or recommendation for local shops would be a plus. I live in North Jersey.

Did it say drivetrain malfunction? Because if it did. Mine did and it was the high pressure fuel pump. Our cars have 2 fuel pumps and the hi pressure one is the one in the front.

BMW issued a recall for nearly 156k 2010 to 2011 models to fix a defective VANOS bolt that could lead to the engine malfunction described by kit12buy.

Gentleman,
Alcenos yes the VANOS was done, my local indy shop looked at the car and said it may have been bad gas.
