In theory based on the exhaust manifold design, it should not be possible for coolant to trickle backwards to the exhaust ports and into the cylinders. The coolant should run down into the turbos and out the exhaust. However, that is a lot of "should" and doesn't account for what would happen if a large amount was able to build up in the cooler due to the valve being closed on the exhaust end of the cooler. Not really worth the risk of driving it until you can solve the problem

Also worth noting when you first start it up it's fine but after a min or two it it starts getting worse and then it's in full James bond smoke screen mode

Is it smoke or steam? How does it smell?
The loud turbo whistle is not normal unless you have downpipes. I think you have a blown DPF along with at least one bad injector.
