NBT Firmware Update
Hi there,
I'm currently running NBT_B on my 2013 F31. I tried to update to the latest bluetooth update (UPD05062) from the BMW website, but it won't because it's only for cars after March 2014. So, I can only apply (UPD05021). I believe this is because I need NBT_G or higher. So, the car has been with the dealer today for them to do the update. Told them I need the latest bluetooth update on it. But it sounds like after having the car in all day they haven't done it, and said they don't just do the firmware updates because you want them. I've only just bought the car, as an Approved Used BMW - and obviously want the latest software on it. Am I right in thinking you get some improvements with the HUD too with the latest NBT software? I tried coding the Junction View and it was pretty rubbish for me, but I gather it might be better with the latest firmware. Any ideas what I can do? Cheers. |

I lost the minimal coding I had and now can't code that stuff back (for now or for good, nobody knows). There are some bugs in the new firmware but on the whole it's better than the old. I'll live without coding but will look for ways of being able to do it, in case it's resolved. As SJ said, be warned about losing coding ability, for me the Bluetooth update was overall worth it. I don't have LED lights and other things that need coding to work, just had basic stuff so no real loss. |

Picked the car up, and surprise surprise it's now NBT_I.
So, they did it even over the phone they told me they didn't. I was worried about losing the coding, but to be honest - I didn't have anything which I could miss and decided I would rather have the latest firmware. Last edited by ichalmers; 03-19-2015 at 01:54 PM.. |
