Window not going down a little bit when door opened

Could not find a post on this, so thought I would post it up.

<BEGIN RANT>

I disconnected the battery for a while on my E93 and then when I reconnected the windows stopped going down a little bit when you open the door, so when you close it, they catch on the trim and it holds the glass out unless you push the top of the glass in while closing the door. Also found the one touch up doesn't work anymore!

I look it up in the manual - assume it is like my lexus and they need initialized, so it will be in the manual. Jerks at BMW say they recommend you take it to the dealer for system initialization - how can you need to take the car to the dealer because it didn't have power for a little while????????

I searched around with google and it said to put the window down, then back up and hold it in the up position for 10 seconds (same as my lexus actually) and older bmw's.

That did the trick - just have to put both windows down and back up to initialize them and make the pinch sensors etc work - cake!

I cannot beleive they specifically don't tell you how to do this in the manual and tell you to take it to the dealer - what a total scam and knowing some dealers, they probably would take the door apart and replace half the parts.

Anyway, in case anyone runs into this - your too dumb to hold the window up button for 10 seconds and should drive to the dealer while drooling and ask them to hold it for you!
