check your bonnet!

no, im not talking about std's

what i am talking about is a small dent about the size of 50p which is on the bonnet lines about 10cm down the line from top of bonnet.

i read a post in the 3 series section and appears so many people have been afflicted by this anomoly. i went and checked mine and sure enough there is a dent. not noticeable at most angles.

check yours, if this is a fault of bmw i want a warranty repair on it!

thanks in advance

Checked. No sign. Is it where the bonnet is hinged from on underside?

Nothing showing on mine. No saying it wasn't removed by the dealer before delivery though if it's a common fault??

All I noticed was the numerous chips and dinks :/

Wash and polish today, some tosser has caught the passenger door down to white undercoat, two tiny lines a couple of mill long, about 1/4 mill wide and about 40 pin heads on the bonnet and bumper.

Anyway, back on topic, couldn't see a dint in the bonnet

5k :/

Only tiny pin pricks of black showing through paint Must be 10 on bonnet, loads on bottom of bumper, one on the chrome surround to the grill and adjacent paintwork.

Understand that from original post. Just trying to fathom the cause if it is actually such a common issue...

agreed i looked under bonnet and found no obvious cause. there are a few rubber gromets in that area and removing them just reveals a hollow space i imagine where people can stuff wires and stuff for washers i guess

Could be that the Mways are busy but free flowing so lots of heavy traffic high speed could mean stone rash.

It's not the car, the previous mondeo and insignia were wrecked at the front with chips, felt like a cheese grater on the plastic

I found three dents on my bonnet, two on the right side right on the crease line same as the other posts and one on the front above the right bonnet latch.
I have no idea how these occurred as I hardly open my bonnet and always drop to close it.
My best guess was it was done by the dealer when I took it in for some warranty work. Fortunately I found a good PDR who managed to remove them and did a great job.
