I have 100k on mine and they're quiet.
You're sure the humming noise ain't a DPF regen?

Bigger wheels shorter lifespan on wheel bearings. Mine are still good at 100k.

Use automotive stethoscope and listen to the bearing if you can. I had a bad noise in rear end of mustang. I wanted to make sure noise was in diff and not in the axle bearings. It sounded like a gravel mixer in the diff and quiet in the outer bearings. Since we have CV joints and half shafts, it's a different animal. You should still be able to listen to bearings. Jack up car and we'll support it so that you can run the car in drive to listen. Remove wheels. Be damn careful to not get reeled in the running drivetrain. If you are in anyway uncomfortable with what I suggest, take to shop and gave them listen while car is on lift. You can google and find a YouTube video of this. This what I did to decide my course of action. Best of luck.

Forgot to finish mustang story. We paid for diff shop to install new carrier and pinion bearings. Problem solved.

Just had my passenger rear wheel bearing replaced last week. I think I first got hints of the issue last summer but got real bad the last few weeks. About 53,000 on the car. Mix between the stock 17"s and staggered 19" setup

I cant say really. I assume it has to do with the additional weight (generally true but not always true of course) and also the added length of stiff material effectively lengthening the arm that potholes and such apply force on your hub. Longer arm = more torque on the hub everytime it sees a force in that side to side direction. 1/2" of added length isnt a whole lot but any added torque in that direction on the hubs is going to shorten their lifespan. Same effect as hitting more potholes has on them, just probably not as extreme.

Both rear wheel bearings on my car ended up being replaced at 43k. Stock wheels / Arizona weather.
