Software corruption

Just had a call from my dealer as my F30 is in for a service today. They stated the computer has reported there is a software corruption on my Idrive system and it needs reprogramming. I had reported a few freezes with the Satnav and the message 'no signal' and after a few minutes the system reboots. It will a few hours to complete so am without a car this evening.

Anyone else had this? I wonder if it's related to updating my maps to 2015-2 a couple of weeks ago. I also wonder if they will downgrade those maps for any reason?

They may just reset the system and reload from latest DVD for full system refresh.

I should think they'll update the software to psdzdata 55, which will mean you can't code the car!

It shouldn't affect your maps though.

I don't think the map update word corrupt anything...

I had the time not working in my F34 a while ago but the dealer updated the software and all is good now

Ok thanks lads. They did say it may help my seemingly weak DAB radio reception. But I doubt that

On the bright side it now tells you when you turn the heated steering wheel on and off

OK it has been updated and I have noticed some different icons on the SatNav screen so must be a newer version of the software. My maps have remained at 2015-2. Time will tell if is cured it.
