WOW Awesome mileage.....

Well I have EVENTUALLY since June, hit the 6000.00 miles mark

Admittedly had to drive around the carpark a bit

Admittedly 400 ish miles today - although with the M6 it feels longer lol.

It was going to be Edinburgh and back today, however thought bugger that for a game of soldiers lol.

Thats nothing. My missus has only done 3000 miles in her 2 and a half year old Fiesta.

In fact I've only done 11K in mine since Nov 2013, so about the same.

As a serious question how do you guys justify spending so much on an expensive car to use it so little whilst thousands fall out its value as it depreciates?

It was cheaper than a vauxhall.

I get a very good car allowance and its mandatory I buy a car.

Since June loads of flying and train trips to Manchester and London.

It's only money at the end of the day.

If we did not need an estate for the dog and other stuff, then it would likely be a 6 series etc - so even more money sitting around on drive

Admittedly we had 3 cars between us both.

Impressively low mileage but my folks Nov 2011 320i Exclusive Edition Touring is showing 709 miles on the odometer, shortly to be replaced by an i3. The dealer is flabbergasted even more so when he found out that it has an inc. service plan which will never be used.

It's never seen a car park, certainly not Morrisons which would be just over 1250 miles, so working it out as 2 x return trips to Swindon, 3 x Gosport and 60 miles by the dealer. You gotta laugh at this one, but to be fair they have other vehicles for use.

Yes and no.

It's likely to be over 700 business miles this week, so at 45 - 50 mpg, rather than 30mpg, I get more cash back.

However, I may not use the car next week, as could be in Italy.

The majority of my mileage is 200 plus trips rather than commuting.

However, when it's financially sensible to change, I will likely get a 335i.

At the moment I don't see point of loosing money to change from one excellent car to another...

I just breached the 25,000 mile market today driving back from Surrey! My car is a June 2014 car too

That's about 50 tanks of diesel, around £3.5k

The car needs to be serviced every 2 years regardless of mileage though?

Wavering slightly OT but Yes, I did think that and will enquire about it as they may be unaware of it having service inclusive for 5 years..... it's sounding worse isn't it? although that may be the explanation of the 60 miles to the dealer as I know they collect and deliver it back, so could be the 2 year service. I can't wait to get the tyre kickers looking at it or just part ex-ing it for the i3 may be the simplest route. I'll post some photo's of it in a couple of weeks to see if it generates any interest. This is part the spec according to my local dealer 91 320i Exclusive Edition Touring

Titanium Silver Metallic
Grey Dakota leather
Service inc. from 25/11/2011 to 24/11/2016
Automatic Gearbox
Run-flat tyres
Elec Fold Exterior Mirrors
Panoramic glass sunroof
Rain sensor with auto. headlight activation

Wahey I am similar 7k since March 14! Infact I have done 4k on my push bike since then, and the 7k includes probably about 1k for a cornwall trip.

I didn't want a 335i fancied a torque monster and do longish trips now and again and give the engine the beans quite often to keep her healthy.

Yes it loses thousands but not as much as high mileage cars.

I think my mileage is low as I have a 3 mile each way commute to work. So a 30 mile a week commute. We do use it for holidays around the UK quite a lot, so we do get out and about a bit like Brigand but not doing the miles in the week keeps the overall mileage low.

I see my car as something I use to go different places not the same old mundane route to work everyday, clocking up the miles.

With the miles I do I suppose should test a 335i and compare it to mine. But to be honest, I love the torque of the diesel and I would imagine it would still "feel" faster than a 335i even though they are evenly matched on paper.
I did not choose a diesel for fuel economy reasons!

Will be stripping and sorting my MTB this weekend, so will be using that again more.

I admit I am not a winter / dark night biker.

Mainly as I don't want mugged for my bike etc. and that happens here.

I do however carry some protection lol.

I have never really worried about my bike being nicked when on it but maybe I should! I have clip less pedals so thats always a little deterrent..but it still will go into the back of a van.

My new bike is on the house insurance I suppose but I am mostly using it around Richmond Park for fitness and its a relatively cheap compared to some I see even though it was 3.5k!

3.5k on a pedal bike?

I would have got a gym membership and spent the change on the car.

Amazing how expensive bikes can be

heres my other German baby

its the sweet spot for me as diminishing returns has already kicked in. Electric shifting and the superb wheels make such a difference. The same frame won the Giro De Italia.

Its a lot of money but suppose it is my gym (I hate them!) and I would never exercise otherwise. in reality a 500 quid bike would be fine but then I could get a much cheaper motor too. I had a 107 1.0L that was such good value for money but just functional and crap - I love my 335d

https://www.canyon.com/en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3614

I wanted this but the misses put the block on

https://www.canyon.com/en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3683

Have a look at the delivery dates, 3-6 months wait for these bikes.. some people have more money than sense .... me
