Angry Burning Oil

Hello all,

I have a 2011 US spec 335d with 43k miles. I purchased the car 6 months ago with 29k miles. I'm currently running JBD @ 75%. Even before the JBD was installed I was burning about a court of oil every 3k-4k miles. I've heard these engines burn oil but isn't that a little excessive? Is this normal? I drive the car pretty hard but I'm always concerned about the oil level. I shouldn't have to worry about oil levels in a newer car like this! Input? Advice? Should I bring it into the dealership for them to look at it? I've always had it topped off at the dealership so they have it all on record.

a quart every 3-4k is normal. BMW actually specs a quart in 750 miles as the unacceptable delineation.

Are you waiting 10 minutes after fully warmed up and then shut down before pulling dip stick? If immediately pulled after shutdown, you will get a low reading even though its full. If you know this already, proceed on. I normally change around 4000 miles and never been below full.

Have you checked for leaks? There are quite a few "normal" leak points on thess
