CT/MA ///M owners!

I am really looking forward to taking delivery of my new M3 later this week (finally)!!! Wednesday is my day off, and it's forecast be sunny at last!!!

Any good driving route suggestions? Back road scenic routes, twistes, deserted stretches of local country roads ... Just not the interstates.

I was thinking of driving to western CT (near Limerock race track and Kent) to see some covered bridges, and north into MA, then western MA and the berkshires, back down into CT.

Hook me up!!!

I did the Boston to Lime Rock trip early in the AM in my AMG E63s on the day Zi attended the AMG Driving Academy. It was one of my best drives ever, and look forward to trying it again in my M3. Should be fun.

You may also want to do the White Mountains in NH, North Conway. Kangamangus Hwy!

The roads near Lime Rock particularly by the river are great. Enjoy your new M3.

Litchfield County is full of great driving roads, I'll see if I can find some of my old route notes to share with you. The first one that comes to mind is Winsted, CT, to Lee, MA on Rote 8. This route parallels a river, and while it may not look impressive on a map, it is one of the best roads I've ever driven. I had a long term consulting gig in Albany, and this was my 4 times a month round trip commute from Torrington, CT.

I've heard so much about the white mountains, but that's an almost 8 hour round trip from me.

Might have to take the family along for this one, some time this summer. And maybe stay the whole weekend. I really appreciate the input though. So far it sounds like litchfield county, through Lime Rock!

This is perfect! Thanks for the suggestion, and for confirming this is probably a very nice scenic route! This is probably what I will end up doing!

Route 7 from LIme Rock to Kent runs along the Housatonic River and through a state forest.

White Hollow Road (Where the LRP main entrance is located) is another great drive as are Salmon Kill Road and Calkinson Town Road.

If you head up toward the Berkshires in Mass, check out mohawk trail on Route.2...Nice twisty roads thru the mountains....Will be headed that way with my future F80 and also in my Ducati....Also White mountains the Kangamangus HWY is a must if you get the chance to get up there...
