Question Retrofitting M Sport Wheel with paddles Question

Hi guys,

So i currently have an E90 Sport steering wheel with paddles that look like this where you push to downshift and pull to upshift on either side.

However I was wondering if I bought an M Sport steering wheel with paddles that look like this, where the left paddle is downshift and the right paddle is upshift, will my computer system recognize this or will I have to do some retrofitting to make it actually work?

Thanks in advance. (My car is a '09 N54 335i)

You will have to do some retrofitting for it to work. Nothing too crazy. You will just need to resolder the board and then replug to the correct slot and your good to go.

Find the m3 dct paddles. They plug right in and work out of the box. Plus the paddles are changeable.

Or you could rewire your old paddles so that your left side pull is for downshift!

I just did this and it's pretty easy and straightforward. I have my left paddle set to downshift (push/pull) and right paddle set to upshift (push/pull).

that steering wheel looks like an M3 wheel. you do not need to do any rewiring or work.

simply swap your steering wheels around but keep your original multifunctional buttons. do not need us M3 buttons as paddles will not work.

after youve done this and used your own buttons left shifter will go down a gear and right will go up a gear.
