Well if something happens to your door and/or window I'm pretty sure the stealer will try to blame it on the tint.

Just don't go in complaining about window streaking marks while rolling up/down or any excessive squeaking and you should be fine.

I think I've got this one beat....

Circa 2007 upon picking up the old 46M after an Inspection II at Bellevue BMW - I notice no reference to valve shims, spark plug gaskets, or even a peek under the valve cover on the invoice.

I asked the SA, "what about the valve adjustment?"

His reply "We listened to it idle in the shop and thought they sounded great." The inspection II price did not reflect this however...

Next weekend I perform my first DIY valve adjustment - 15 valves were out of spec at 59k.

SA is now the Service Manager....

Sad how much dealerships use warranty scare tactics.
Client of mine E92 M3 modded out to the max, installed by my shop and serviced by local BMW dealer. Car has extended 100K service warranty. Never 1 issue.
Sells car to one of my female clients 1.5 years later who is a serious M owner herself. She takes the car in for service 1 time and dealer tells her your service and warranty is voided because of your performance add ons.
WTF !?
She argues with them and shows proof that the car has been serviced at the same dealer since day 1. Few hours later they say ok, we'll let you slide this time.
lol

Each SA and dealer is different... some SA are just good salesmen, Some actually know the cars, Some have a realistic perception some do not.. dont forget theres a chain of command at a dealership.... end rant..

but i F*cking love these cars.. and i love my job

This has to be one of the funniest things I have heard (tint). You should have asked him if you fart in the car will that void the warranty for the cabin air filters.

First, SAs can be stupid and can be smart. If an SA told me this, I'd ask for it in writing, and then I'd contact BMW USA and ask for it in writing as well. Hint, you won't get it. Second, I'd post it all over yelp and sites, if it costs them 1 sale, that SA will get at least a tongue lashing from the GM.

The dealer will cover whatever BMW USA says to cover or not. The SAs have guidelines but some dealers are stricter than others. Go to another dealer. you can have your car warranted and serviced anywhere.

Bellevue rocks. As this is my fourth language, I mean that as a suggestion to throw rock at them.

You need to come to a meet, we have many funny stories to share.

What he actually told you is not to visit his dealer again. And he's absolutely correct.

Listen to him.

You should have immediately followed up with "Can I get that in writing or via email?". To which you forward to the manager as to why your business will be taken elsewhere...WTF?

Good advice and then you would need to post that email here so we could all get a good laugh.

Funny, my dealership gave me a free tint as part of trying to gain my business. Damn, if I would have known they were just trying to void my warranty.......

I just brought mine in for the break in service today... Everyone I spoke to mentioned how it unlocks something in the car. I corrected the SA(who is very much into cars) to say I highly doubt the car has any more power, just launch mode is active.

But the sales manager mentioned his M3 demo was noticeably quicker after the service. I call shannanigans. Mine feels no different.
