BMW M2 Likely to get OLED Lights?

Just came across this R&T article regarding OLED right at the M2 Launch. Has BMW reversed course on holding out on these upgrades until LCI? Let's hope so.

Hold on, lets not get too excited. I believe that it was stated that they would show up on a production car in the 'near future'.

I'd be a lot of money that they were referencing the M4 GTS.

I think the media is pulling it in a more attention grabbing direction. I'd be thrilled if the M2 was offered with LED's... OLED's sounds optimistic.

""" BMW previewed its OLED tech on its M4 Light Concept earlier this year but has promised that its high-performance M GmbH division “will be launching a production model featuring OLED technology in the near future.” Given how the next M car due to be revealed is the 2016 M2—the hot-rodded 2-series coupe—we’re going to go ahead and assume it’ll be available with OLED taillights. """

They're definitely stretching the news.

Agreed.

I think their premise is wrong also, the next M car to be revealed is likely the M4 GTS at The M Festival 2015 in May. Given that the concept lights were already made for the M4, it makes more sense that they will be launched with the M4 GTS.

It's a great thought, but I don't think that it will happen for the M2. I think that they are talking about the M4GTS.

No way would they allow the M2 to overshadow the M3 in any sort of way.
There is a difference unfortunately, between car enthusiasts and savvy businessmen. Profits over passion rule the brand nowadays.

Personally, I could give a damn about what kind of tails this car gets - it's just the people trying to figure out what just happened that'd appreciate them.

Pew Pew - ZOMG, where those organic tails?
