What oil to use now that BMW has switched over to Shell

Hi guys,

As you all know BMW has switched their branded oil from Castrol to Shell. I just picked up my car from service today and noticed that they put in the Castrol branded oil.

I like to change the oil midway through the recommend interval. I have been using the Castrol branded oil for this. Does anyone have any thoughts on what brand of oil I should use this time around? Is it ok to switch the brand of oil?

Also, does anyone know if the dealer is going to continue to use Castrol oil until my "free" maintenance runs out?

I only use Mobil 1 0W-40 in my BMWs, no matter what they use...

Still using Castrol. I don't think the car knows. Plus my oil cap (DOB was 3/2/15) still says Castrol.
