Production week to delivery in GTA
What's been the experience for the number of weeks of wait to taking delivery from a confirmed production week?
Thanks

Well, I knew when my car production was completed and I know (from the shipping company website) when my car was scheduled for shipment. So I know how long it was waiting at the docks.
Shipping is tracked via the shipping company. From the shipping, I know when it lands in Halifax and a great member here E92LNGCGY was kind enough to help track the train, so I knew when it got loaded on the train in Halifax, time to travel, and when it got unloaded in Toronto. Then, from the trucking company, my VIN appears once it has been scheduled, so I know how long the time between landing in TO and getting scheduled. I hope this make sense, I am typing this really fast between 2 meetings. lol Also, if you want more details about tracking, here is my other post. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...76&postcount=7 Cheers. |

mine lands in Halifax on monday June 1
asked dealer to ship it by truck - we'll see - it just seems like it should not take longer within canada than it does crossing Germany and the atlantic

Usually, if you did ED (European Delivery), they will ship your car from Halifax to TO by truck. This usually takes couple of days. However, majority will come by rail. If you have special pull with your dealer, maybe they will ship by truck, I am not certain.
Anyhoo... best of luck and welcome to the M family. |

Glad I found this thread. My M4 sat at the port for almost 3 weeks From reading this thread that doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary.
It finally departed June 16th. From what I've read here it looks like it will arrive Halifax in the next few days, sit for the better part of a week then begin its journey to Ontario. With any luck there will not be any unexpected delays and I will get my car in the next 3-4 weeks! I put down my deposit in mid April. |

All you need is the VIN. Enter it into the "Cargo ID" field, and your car will show up once it's entered into the system. You can also do partial VIN searches to see cars that are ahead of you (ie, just search for the first 9 digits of the VIN) ... it's not always reliable as they don't necessarily ship in order, but it can give you a rough idea of when your car should arrive.
