Launching questions

Hey guys,

Quick question I'm still breaking in my 435i and haven't really had the time to play with it as much as I would want to. what would you guys recommend for a good launch comfort, sport, or sport+? and where would you set the rpms? the car is still stock and its manual transmission. its only at 500 miles so still feeling it out

thanks

Do the manuals have Launch Control? If not I would say around 3,000 RPM on dry asphalt. More like 4,500 RPM on a track.

I personally wouldn't launch the car until 1k miles, but that depends on how long you plan on keeping it.

lol i'm not revving my car past 3k rpms until I hit 1,500 miles and I don't believe my car has launch control, atleast not that I know of.

It does. It's a soft limiter at 3500 RPM in Sport+ mode.

And you're not doing your car any good and only inconveniencing yourself by trying to stick to a nonsensical "break-in procedure." But hey...that's for a different thread.

I beat the crap outta my car from the second i bought it, just no "hard launches" till 1,000 miles or so. But hey it'll be someone else's problem after I return it for a 340xi next year.
