This topic was posted on here a few months ago, this process is called Fischer-Tropsch and has been around since the early 1900's.

No worries. I work in the biofuels industry and can say that while it is cool that they buit a pilot scale plant of this, the overall efficiency of the path they chose is very low and there are many other ways of achieving this same end product.
