Car Wash

Anyone know of a decent place to get a car wash in NoVA? I took some bad advice from a friend of mine and got a few swirls in the new paint already (ouch). But after the rains of late, I need a decent wash/ maybe a wax, though I'd like to not break the bank. Thanks for the help.

I go to the shell dealership on Franconia Rd over by Edison High School. Its an automated touchless wash. Its open 24 hours and there is never a line when I go at 11pm. $10 for the top of the line wash. $1 off with purchase of gas. I have found this wash to be the most consistent in the area.

or you could just drive the car on the weekend and when it is not raining like me

show you car some love and detail it by hand...lots of places to do a self wash in the area (bring lots of quarters) and then go home and clay bar, polish, and wax...

There's also a self wash area in the Shell gas station off Rt 7 by Bailey's Crossroads. 2 rounds @ $3 a pop with a quick detail right after. You're set.

There is an Embassy Wash in McLean, off of Old Dominion Road between Chainbridge Rd. and Dolley Madison. There are always nice cars there getting washed, ie: Range Rovers, BMW's, Mercedes so they can't be too terrible. If your really worried about your paint tho, wash it by hand, the way it should be done.

I got to Yates on Rt 1 right above Old Town. They have always done a really good job on all my cars.

Where are these places where you can wash it yourself? I thought they didnt exist in the VA?

Anyone try using Mr. Wash?
I was thinking about taking in mine to one on Glebe this weekend. I'm hoping nobody had a horrible experience there.
Also, assuming there is no line, how much time am I looking at?

Thanks

Be careful taking your cars to non-hand wash places, as they might scratch up your wheels. Especially if you have aftermarket ones.

I'd rather just do it myself....even with the cold weather.

Yeah i wouldn't go to a non-handwash place if you had wheels and is lowered with some front lip. It will not clear the rail and if ur wheels are too wide it'll get scuffed up. What i do is wait for it to rain and drive around cheap.

Haha, I used to do that with my Altima...

My car is 100% stock, so I guess I should be ok.
I suppose I could try washing it myself, but I live in a condo and I know that I'm not motivated enough to consistently go to one of those self wash places.

I just went through the older car wash threads and somebody actually recommended Mr. Wash and Embassy autowash, so i might end up trying either or both.
