BBS RGR 18x10 fitment issues

My BBS RGR 18x8.5 and 18x10s arrived today shod with PSCs. I was worried about the fitment of the rear wheel and once I threw them on to examine them, my concern increased. The inside of the rubber on the rear wheel (running 285/30-18 PS Cups) is slightly rubbing the plastic of the wheel well which can be heat gunned or cut away. My concern is the outer portion of the wheel. Does anyone have experience with these wheels? Can I expect full compression rubbing issues? I would like to avoid further testing (removing the spring and running the wheel full up into the well) so if anyone knows for sure, I appreciate the help.

I have a TC Kline DA suspension on the way, so the car will be lower when it's fitted. I'm thinking I should just send them back and put on 265/35-18 Cup tires instead. Thoughts?

The offset is 25mm. The wheel fits fine. The tire is the problem.

I had to put the car on the rack, pull the spring and compress the suspension completely. It won't fit, so I ordered a set of 265/35-18 cup tires. Anyone want my unused 285/30-18's? I guess I'll try ebay or craig's list.

It's a pity. The weather forecast is perfect for the Ring. I guess I'll have to just use my Goodyear F1 All Seasons until my cups get here

wow..offset must be off. but many m's run 275 rears. It rubbing without a drop too. try to return/exchange the rear wheels

I suspect the offset might be off too. Michelin doesn't make Cups in 275, so I'm sticking with 265s. In reality it will be better with the 235 fronts. With 285s, I would have encounted understeer I would have never solved. If these 265s don't fit, Tirerack better take them back. They refused last time.

I remounted 265/35r18s yesterday and mounted them up on the car in preparation for my first trip to the ring. I'll post more information later this weekend.

Hhmm.. I have 275 with an offset of +35 with 20mm H&R spacers. Perfect flushed look I think... ALso have H&R springs and no rubbing issues. One thing though, because its lowered, the 275 was slightly hitting the brake line, so that why I decided to install spacers. Actually I like the look better, more aggresive and wider stance...

The drop is coming. I am doing the full TC Kline suspension with a couple Recaro seats as well. I'm heading up to the Nuerburgring today to get a few laps in on the stock suspension. The brakes will get done tomorrow after I wear off the stock pads today.

Did a good 16 laps at the ring a while back--no rubbing and incredible grip. The tires completely trashed my stock brakes, but I did a brake job myself replacing the stock lines for SS stoptechs, Forodo 2500 brake pads, and Motul RBF600. I'm STILL waiting on TC Kline to send the suspension, but I hope to have it in time for 23-24 March. Maybe I should start a thread dedicated to my little beast and my ring trips.

I thought having the tyres showing past the body work was illegal??

I've got a set of BBS CH that I want to fit to my 3.0si coupe, but when I test fitted the rear it stuck out past the body, by a similar amount to yours.

The fronts are 8.5jx18 ET35, and the rears 10jx18 ET40. Has anybody fitted a similar sized pair?

Also does the z4mc have a different width track, or wider rear arches?

I would have kept the 285's and just rolled the fenders.

Stretching the tires like that just looks bad. And I believe it also compromises the seal on the tires to stretch them like that so it may blow off the rim.

Maybe stick to a 9.5" rim?

I'm running 18x8 and 18x9 with 235 in front and 255 in rear. Although I should have gotten 265's in the rear. But I will get 265's when the 255's are worn out.

Although it still looks like a very nice setup.

The stretch isn't of any concern in this case. It's not that bad... the 265's can accomodate anything between 9" to 10.5" wheel widths.

The stretch isn't an issue at all. The 265's fit perfectly and also stiffens the sidewall. I had satisfactory times on the ring about a month ago turning in low 9 minute laps on cold tires with a stock suspension and DSC ON. I now will have upgraded brakes, suspension and race seats which will keep me planted and not tossed about. Once the car is sorted and properly corner balanced, I'll turn off DSC and hopefully get 8:40s or so. We'll see.

Yes, Michelin PS Cups in 265 will fit rim widths of 9"-10.5"
