Stett Performance CAI Review
I've had the Stett Performance intake fitted in my e92 335i since Monday 4th Feb.
Fit & Finishing: The kit came with comprehensive instructions that details everything clearly. Parts are of high quality, with weldings nice and clean. I especially like that the ends of every pipe have been rolled with a slight groove. Overall it's a tight fit but once you've got all the pieces lined up it quickly becomes apparent the amount of effort and thought that went into developing the kit. I managed to fit the pipes such that I didn't have to cut the fender liner. The K&N cone sits in the cavity just above the fog light. I've also experienced no rubbing issues despite running 235 19s on PSS9s. Personally, given the limited space I really don't see anything that I could improve on in this kit. Visually the grey powder coating is eye-catching but classy at the same time.. I just love how it looks the business. Sound: With the hood open I can hear a slight increase in induction sound and diverter valves when giving some gas. On a 2nd gear pull, boost is notieceably louder with the window down. However, with the windows up and a/c on you won't be able to hear any difference from stock. Performance: I haven't had the time to do any dyno runs. I can say with certainty though that throttle response has improved. Mid to high rpm certainly feels punchier as well. There's no perceived loss in low end whatsoever. It kinda feels like when I changed out my OEM DPs to the UR catted ones. Feels like there's more area under the curve, like as though I increased engine displacement. I can now hardly feel any lag whatsoever. Conclusion: Need I say more? I love this kit Other Mods: Procede V2 @ 15.1psi, UR Catted DPs, Miltek exhaust with 2nd cats delete, Bilstein PSS9, H&R Swaybars, Quaife LSD, Brembo 6pot Monobloc 355mm Front BBK, 19" CSLs with Michelin PS2 |

I'll to shoot some pics for of the engine bay tomorrow. Gotta wait a couple of days for pics under the fender. It's Chinese New Year here in Singapore and most businesses are closed for the week.

Maybe this has been asked before - but what does the 2-1 split serve for? Is it the separate feeds for the 2 turbos?
I'm just wondering if that is the same path routing as the OEM intake... |

Check this out for better explanation of how the intake routing works. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38856 The filter is placed right in front of the passenger side wheel fender cover. The fender cover can be removed to change filter without having to remove bumper. |

dre335 you have an awesome collection of performance mods. Are all the Porsches afraid to come out and play with you?

And if so, and if I'm looking at the correct thing, it looks like a foam filter? Is that correct? I thought foam filters well, filtered the worst? The tubing looks great though btw. Good job on their part to make a nice looking intake tube. |

The pipes are powder coated grey. The filter element is a K&N cone so it's the usual reddish brown color.
