Order now delayed from March to June!

This is so frustrating, we ordered a Black/Red loaded X5M around Christmas and initial production was scheduled in March, then early April, then late April and then late May and now June...

Is anyone else in the same boat?

Do you have a production number, or was the production date estimated by the dealership?

I got a production number when we ordered, and I can track it online and by phone. BMWNA usually tells me the estimated date and my dealer can confirm it.

That's strange then. Have you had your dealership investigate more thoroughly? Did the dealership mark it "priority 1 - customer sold" when you ordered? When mine was going to be delayed five weeks, the GM at my dealership called a few higher-ups and was able to get reasonable answers. Most here who have had delays encountered them after vehicle production during the quality control phase, or during the hunt for an allocation.

That's something wrong. You need to check it with your dealer.

I got my X6M ordered same time like your X5M. But my X6M production is completed and schedule to delivery next week about May 12 to 15.

Wish you get your dream machine soon.

I ordered in November. Should be taking delivery this weekend. I really hope it's worth the wait.

My car still hasn't been delivered yet. It's been sitting at the VDC since last Thursday. I leave Monday for a business trip and the dealer it's being delivered to is (of course) the only one that doesn't have service open on Saturday.

BMW systems said it was due for delivery today. That didn't happen.

I've postponed this trip multiple times now and have already eaten a couple grand in change fees and fare differences. I'm seriously considering getting my attorney involved to recover the costs. Maybe that will get BMW to actually give a damn.

I lost my shit earlier with everybody in the process and ultimately I canceled my order.

I ordered this car in November before anybody else on this forum. The way I've been treated is simply disgusting. Every time I see a delivery I want to explode.

Sorry BMW. 15 years of near exclusivity to you and 12 vehicles just came to an end.

I'll be selling my parts shortly.

@wdimagineer , whoaa, seriously. That is really bad. Sorry to hear the bad experience, I wouldn't have the patience too. Especially with a car that is as hot as the X5M.

Wow sorry to hear but I understand I wouldn't want to be whipped around by a company like that. No matter how sexy their cars are

Sorry to hear you're cancelling your order. Sounds like you were so close to delivery too. I can understand your frustration, but you may want to reconsider. Once you see and drive your X5M you might forget about the hassles and just enjoy your new ///M!

Selling dealer is trying to salvage the deal. I'll see what they come back with. They've also offered to reimburse me for my trip changes.

Regardless, it's still not at the dealer. It wasn't delivered yesterday, either.

All I want are answers. They do too. They're just as upset as I am. I'm a long time customer of theirs and never have they seen something as bad as this situation.

Ordered late February, had production number, build estimated May 11. Delayed to June 14. Dealer said shortage of backup cameras causing delay.

I heard backup cameras and red interior as well were causing the issue. Still frustrating to see new deliveries daily yet somehow all of our pre orders are not being made. As all of them have backup cameras standard, I am sure that the BMW factory is not at a standstill while they wait...

Ordered in late March and was issued a prod # for the week of June 8th.

I call BMW Canada weekly for updates, im still assigned to June 8th. (as i get closer to the prod week the frequency of my call ins will increase)

Crossing my fingers this remains unchanged but im not encouraged when reading about all the delays people are having.

Im assuming a VIN# is issued within 24-48hrs once the vehicle enters production. Then its phase two of possible delays; the qaulity checks.

Im probably missing another possible phase of delays, shipping from Spartenburg to Canada surely invlolves the involvemnt of our beloved mounties and boarder agents.

ahhh...
The desktop wallpaper will have to due until she arrives

Hang in there everyone.

I heard a little bit more today. My vehicle is still at the VDC and has been "flagged". Not for damage, but for inspection for a possible recall. The one sentence email responses from BMW NA don't offer much additional detail but at least it's something.

This was the note:
"Vehicle was flagged and is in Oxnard. Right now, if vehicle passes all inspections and nothing goes wrong it could be at the dealer by this week Fri. Possibly Thu."

Was sent to my sales manager.

I don't know if this affects other cars that have been built, just a certain batch, etc.

They're now saying delivery to dealer Thursday or Friday.

I'm getting a stellar deal now. Rack rate and below invoice. Further, they're eating my out of pocket costs for my trip delay and airfare to pick her up.

Not out of the woods yet but closer. I'm curious if others are in a similar situation.
