Requesting Dealer CBU Cleaning

My 50k mile / 4 year warranty is about to expire in a few days and I was wondering if anyone has had any luck taking their car in to the dealer for "preventative" CBU cleaning?

If there is a way I could convince them to prematurely check my car for CBU before I get the SES/CEL and request they clean it while the car is still under factory warranty?

I already want to take it in to make sure its received the latest software updates and make sure all service bulletins have been addressed on the car so I figure I could "demand" they do a cleaning as well since this is an issue that is guaranteed to show up. I haven't experienced any symptoms yet, but knowing my luck they'll pop up right after warranty expires. I'm not going to be thrilled about dropping $1500+ on an intake/head cleaning.

They won't do jack unless they see the required fault codes for CBU.

No code, no clean.

And even if you have a tell-tale code, they tend to first work through other steps - reprogram DDE, etc. only after that and persistent codes will they undertake CBU.

CBU does not fall under preventative maintenance.

Just get yourself an extended warranty (not the maintenance one) and rest easy knowing that you're covered for one CBU cleaning from the stealership like some of us have experienced, including myself who got one recently because of two cylinder misfires from the dreaded CBU.
