N55 - Charge pipe boost leak

Hi

Just installed the charge pipe and have a huge boost leak. Can hear it from the drivers seat while driving. I switched over the O-ring for the throttle body and the seal for the intercooler end. What surprised me is how loose the throttle body connection is - huge play and rattles about when I yank it. When the engine is hot the play seems smaller but still too big for an o-ring to seal in my opinion.

Any ideas? Anyone with similar problems?

- Niels

Hi Niels,
Did you by any change accidently twist the o-ring(s)?
I experienced some difficulty mounting the lower connection. It was hard to Mount correct even with access from Both top/bottom.
Is the intermediate proper tightened?

It's not that loose at all, should be rock hard tight. Your o rings ok?

Ill check with some soap water tomorrow to see where the leak is.

Symptoms from the car is what feels like misfires/hiccups under acceleration + that obvious leak sound.

At first I was positive it was the connection to the throttle body as this seemed quite loose when I first mounted it.

However, the problem was something as simple as a disconnected inlet to the IC. Just bad installation 2min fix with the car in the air.
