Replacement F31

After a series of issues with my new in November 328i touring and the promise of a replacement car things went quiet. BMW didn't want to replace the car and even after BMW finance getting involved things were uncertain. I'd accepted that the the car wouldn't be replaced but out of the blue today the dealer calls asking me to pop in. It's a 100 mile round trip but I thought what the heck and drove over to see them. I'm greated by the after sales manager who asks me if I'd like a new car. So after a bit of negotiation my 328i is being replaced with a factory order 335i Touring. Mineral grey with coral, m sport +, heated seats, visibility pack and full black panel display. To say I'm excited is an understatement!!! Absolute first glass service from BMW UK and Sytner Leicester. Now the wait begins. 😀

No, old model as it will be built in the next 4 weeks. LCI would have been nice but I'm more than happy with the old model.

Good news!

What were the issues with your current car?

Again I notice that it's the 328i involved when it comes to a significant issues..

Current car had to have a new steering rack very early in its life which is the basis for a replacement car as its a major component failure. Other issues were creaking interior trim, badly fitted drivers door, loose external window trim and a buzzing feeling in the steering at low revs.

Ok so not really anything engine related I guess!
Did you have to pay extra for the engine upgrade or is it a goodwill gesture?

I'm paying a few pounds a month more but the 335i has visibility and full black panel display as extras over my 328i so yes a lot of good will from BMW (or just better discounts on the old model)

No not at all, just noticed that pretty much any car that's had this level of issue have been 328is!

Yeah seems to be the most common car at the dealers is the 328i.

Either engine or steering issues.

OP:

Excellent result and great work by your dealer.
