Remap options for 330D F30

Hi all,

The warranty for my car is finishing in Nov this year and I am starting to consider remap options for my car. I am basically planning to keep the car for at least 5 years so I am looking for a stable remap which will not mess the engine up. I am open to both remap/tuning box options. My very max budget is £1500 but around £1000 would be even better.

Please recommend any reliable companies that you may have used that will give the best gains in terms of bhp/torque. I hope it will not compromise the fuel consumptions figures too much.

The official one ..

The OEM but warranted one ...

http://shop.ac-schnitzer.co.uk/perfo...rom-4092-p.asp

The one that usually gets the best reviews (and its only £500)..

Thanks! I've seen all three of these and yup I was most interested in that last one. There is also a tuning box which gives similar gains but is double the price on this website:

Personally, keeping the car 5 years go with the BMW kit.

Buy a 335d then...

The BMW kit is not expensive.

£500 is very cheap.

Edit: take your current car to Wales / North Yorkshire and drive it in 'manual' with the paddles and try and use all your current power..

I used DMS. They've been around years and have a good reputation.

Then Steinbauer is the way to go, it gives 309hp at the standard setting, but it can be turned up with a knob inside.

Also you can sell it when you change your car and recoup around half the original cost.

I know £500 is cheap but I meant its expensive for the gains you get. You can pay the same and get remap from the place in scotland that gives you 310bhp.

Have a look at my 330d PPK thread, 303hp on a very conservative dyno. When you've read that and read the phony claims from all the tuners, look up Garrett GTB2260V (turbo fitted to all 330d) and see that the most anyone has ever got out of this turbo is 315-320bhp ish, on a EGR delete, DPF delete, full free flow exhaust modified system. It is quite a small turbo, and BMW have extracted almost as much as you can out of it with the PPK. Plus you get a bigger intercooler, which you don't get with any other 'tune'.

Is this the same box you are mentioning? How difficult it is to connect these as I've never really used tuning boxes before. I know some of them are only two sensors.

I had mine done last November, one of the first they did. Took 4 days back then but they've sorted out cracking the encryption much quicker now and can do it in a few hours.
Mine is a 335d but pretty sure they do all the engines now.

They have 8 connections, 1 to each injector, 1 to battery and 1 to the exhaust gas temp sensor.

There a basic install guide on the download tab here: http://www.steinbauer.cc/gb/products...90kw__4g3/b92/

And there's a more detailed guide for the ACS box (which is virtually identical as it's made by Steinbauer) i can email you if you PM me your email address. I also have loads of photos of the install so if you decide to fit one i can send them to you as well.

I just had a look on their website and my car is not listed there. I might have to send them an email. How much did you pay by the way?

Gordon, any idea what turbos are fitted to the 335d, and theoretical max outputs?

A lot! I expect the price has come down now though, especially as there are other tuners now able to do it.

So where do you buy these ppk kits from and who fits them? Are these the standard bmw upgrade kits?
