Typical turbo lag?
I recently replaced the turbos with new stock turbos on my 2008 e93.. car is fbo with meth (stock exhaust)
The car is usually super responsive and boosts like a bat out of hell This is my question/problem... sometimes what seems to occur is when Im WOT from low rpm (any gear other than 1st) my boost shoots to 7-10 psi, hangs there for a couple or few seconds, then shoots to its 18-19 target... almost like a delay in the 2nd turbo kicking in This phenomenon does not occur if I very slowly tip in the throttle, or Im starting from a 1st gear WOT pull, and sometimes doesn't occur at all, depending on conditions. Im curious to know if this is typical lag that others experience or something I need to dig a little deeper into.. |

Do you have an aftermarket charge pipe?

I do have an aftermarket chargepipe and I had multiple issues with it blowing off since replacing turbos due to the pressures. I recently did a pretty good job securing it in place and made certain there was no gap in the connections..
I also have AR downpipes but no issues there as far as leaks Im at a bit of a loss.. |

Check the manifolds. typically when you remove an exhaust manifold or turbo from the manifold, the heating and cooling can loosen the bolts and need to be checked regularly for a week or 2.
