Question Effin insurance quotes.

Pick my lovely shiney new hearse up on Wednesday so just trying to sort out insurance quotes.

All the sites seem to think that all 335d vehicles are GT's. WTF!!

Any ideas on how to get a quote on a touring?

Dave.

Try A Plan the insurance brokers, don't forget you'll get 7 days free insurance with BMW as a stop gap

Just tried A Plan. £736.00

Maybe not!!

Best so far £384 with LV but that is for a GT because I don't get the option of a touring!!!

Dave.

I've also sent the dealer an e-mail about their 7 day insurance.

Go for compare.com type in registration and it will tell you your car details !!

Highway (part of LV) wanted circa £700 off me, apparently they don't insure cars over £40k so the just loaded the premium. I went with A-Plan admittedly it wasn't the best price I could get but it was the best policy and still 30% better than Highways so I was happy enough with that.

Problem is car is not registered yet.
Picking it up on Wednesday but REALLY busy Monday & Tuesday so needed to sort something.
Dealer has sent me details of the BMW 7 day insurance so I'll just go with that on the day.

Cheers.

Dave.

I found the same, my car is about 4 weeks away so have been checking out insurance quotes, everyone thinks the 335d are all GT's.

Out of curiosity i found a couple of number plates of F31 335d from auto trader, one came back as a 335i and the other was unknown.

So i've given up until I get my reg.

Is that on compare the market.

You have to select 335

Then another drop down box later gives option of fuel type. Got caught by that one myself.

Best quote I got was go compare.

Beats my quote of £750 easily

A plan wanted over £1k !!!!!!

Try AXA, good price for me plus you also get free gap cover for the first year from the date the car is first registered!

Went with Direct line however only 2013 2.0i but was only £244 that was also what they call duel car ie my e46 which was £255, car value it doesn't make sense.

direct line this year seem to be very cheap - especially on a multi-car policy.

Last year and previous years quote me happy were the cheapest at around the £230 mark.

Don't rule out BMW themselves - worked out very good for me in the past.

I'm with direct line on mine, it's about 410 quid iirc. Also insured my pug with them after so got multi car discount on that. They've been consistently cheapest for me, despite having an accident in 2013 with them that's still not settled!

They were pretty much the cheapest when I added the ppk and had to change insurers.

I had exactly the same problem switching existing insurance over. I had to speak to them about 5 times on the phone, they contacted the underwriters and said that it was the same classification as a GT. My new insurance certificate said GT so I made them email me some had it in writing that I was fully covered. When I renewed my insurance I I had the reg number and there were no problems.
