(SOLVED) Incoming SMS read and voice reply stopped working

EDIT: Fixed it! See post

I have a 2009 335i with premium and Bluetooth. I was able to receive incoming sms to iDrive where it could read them to me and I could reply by voice. The other day this feature stopped working. What could be wrong? I'm not sure if BMW assist expired? I don't have a combox so maybe this was enabled through the BMW service?

My co worker had this exact thing happened to him. He said his SA told him it was because his BMW assist expired.

Guys, just wanted to update everyone! This has nothing to do with BMW Assist. I got mine working again!

All I had to do was code the option back in using NCS Expert. Apparently after the iDrive map update, this option gets reset to inactive. What I did was set it to active under the CIC module..

PHONE_SMS
aktiv

Anyone who has gotten map updates, I'd recommend you check your CIC module, you might be surprised you didn't even know you had this feature

No, any phone that has Bluetooth with MAP profile (should be pretty much most newish phones). I'm using a Nokia Lumina 830. I believe iPhone 4 and higher supports it, and in android most should support it. Nexus 5 for sure.

No shit. I have an HTC M8 and a Galaxy S6 Edge, so I should be set there. Need to get a programming cable now to see! 2011 with Combox here.
