Stiff brake cold start. To fix or just live with it?
Hard/stiff brake pedal upon cold start.
I know it means there is a vacuum leak in the braking system. Once I start the car the pedal softens up and everything is normal. I've taking the car many times under CPO and they replaced the check valve and a vacuum line as it's been happening many times esp with cold weather. It's getting to the point where I'm just tired of chasing this problem around So can I just live with this problem or will it eventually cause damage or affect the braking system? Thanks

If it's something to do with your brakes, I personally would get it checked and fixed asap.
It might seem small now, but you never know when/if it could manifest into something more.. and that something more could be dangerous and pop-up at just the wrong time. When something just isn't working like it's supposed to, more often than not, it's more of a matter of "when" rather than "if" something will go wrong. That's just my $0.02 though, take it for what you will. |

See here, it is the gasket not sealing well at brake booster:

I have my situation in detail at post #5 in that thread explained. It has been two years now after the fix, it is still good. Dealer eventually had told me that it was normal for my year, not being able to fix it even after a new brake booster assembly. |

I think the dealership replaced the hose that goes from the brake booster. I'm going to take it back but it's difficult to replicate since it doesn't happen every time. Once I left it for 4 days and the brake was normal other times I come from work and it's stiff as hell.
