O Ring Lube for charge pipe?

What kind of oil should I use on the O Ring when I install the VRSF N55 Charge Pipe?
Is 5wt30 synthetic motor oil ok?
Or is there a specific o ring oil? I've heard gear oil also.

Thanks guys. Running to store now so quick reply appreciated.

Cobb recommends silicon lube / WD40 i think. I would imagine this would work fine for all charge pipes and their orings.

Bro, motor oil is fine, u can probably use your finger to get a film of oil off the inside of your old charge pipe, or if u have any oil sitting around in the garage. The purpose of it is it doesn't dry and crack when sealed. You don't need to drench it or anything.

Thanks fellas. I actually just grabbed a quart of Mobil 5wt 30 synthetic. Not a bad thing to have in the shop in case I need a top off before road trip.

This should do the job.

Guess that would work also.
Seems the answer is there are a few options. I just wanted to make sure I did not use something that would be bad. A lite coat of synthetic motor oil can't hurt.

Awesome. Used it and worked great so far!!

Is it normal to have lower boost after installing the VRSF CP?

I was peaking at like 15psi on stock CP. And 11psi on VRSF.

Does it take time for the engine to learn the new flow?

I had no codes get thrown. Running Cobb OTS Stage 1 Aggressive.

No, you may have a leak. Is your tmap sealed well? also the hose clamp?

Make sure you use the included o-ring, make sure the o-ring is present on the t-map sensor, make sure the meth bung is nice and tight and make sure your t-bolts are placed directly after the beads on both sides of the coupler. You don't want the band on top of the bead and you don't want it too far, you want to put it right after the bead to ensure a nice tight seal.

Crap. It all seemed to drive fine.

I did not know I had to tighten the Meth bung. I actually just left that alone. It looked pretty well sealed up.

As for the clamps, I tightened those down pretty damn well and they are tightened after the ridge on the CP.

The TMAP (I assume this is the boost sensor) was tightened quite well also.

I don't think anything was lose.

I did also not floor it though. I only went out on one drive after the instal and I had my wife and 5 month old in the car.

The o ring between the CP and throttle body was lubed and the clamp was put on sufficiently I feel.

I really hate to think I have a leak.
I may need to take the car out tonight by myself and do a few hard pulls.

Reporting back after a little evening joyride without the wife and baby. I peaked 16.6psi.
Hell yea.
Another run peaked 16.0psi.

Soooo....
I'd say I have no leak.
Right?
