I use it quite a bit for my various vehicles. I've always had good experiences and fast shipping. You're generally not going to get OEM parts and you have to pay attention to the brands of the parts listed. Normally you have several choices for any single part choice. Do a little research on the brands and you'll see some are much better than others.
Shop carefully and you'll do alright. |

Awesome for American vehicles I have owned/own, not yet used it on my BMW for any parts, but as finicky as these things are as far as coils and plugs and what not, I am very wary of anything that is not OEM or from a reputable aftermarket supplier (COBB, BMS, etc.)

I've bought plenty of things from Rockauto without an issue.
I've read some stories about them shipping incorrect parts, or outdated parts (not newest revisions). But for the most part, they're a good company to buy from. I bought new Napa wiper blades for our fleet of work vans at my shop for $1.50 each from Rockauto. They're still holding up after a year of use lol. |

I just filed a complaint against them with the BBB. They shipped me a defective hood and are balking on doing a return/replacement since I signed for the shipment. The defect wasn't obvious until a few days after I received the hood. Instead of making it right they are hiding behind their very unfriendly return policy. I probably won't do business with them again.

Well just to update my hood story. Fortunately, I ordered a CAPA certified hood. Since Rock Auto has been difficult about dealing with the issue I filed a quality complaint form with CAPA. I just got off the phone with a CAPA rep and they are shipping me a crate to send it to them and also refunding me the cost of the hood. So Rock Auto's return policy is still not very customer friendly but the CAPA certification is saving me on this one.

I bought my replacement tail light from them. Shipped quick and you'd never know it wasn't OEM.

I've got lots of stuff there... Blower motor, wiper blades, gasket sets, wheel lugs, oil/air filters, brakes & sensors. Had a great experience with them.
Often it's cheaper to get from there with shipping to Canada than it is to get at a local store. (or at least it was before the FX got crazy) |

while you will get mostly good comments for Rock Auto, including me...
there is one thing to consider... a company like this, sources their parts from various warehouses all over the place. Sometimes, you may never know how long a part has been sitting on some shelf collecting dust. Most parts, this might not matter, but there are some that it might. I have a Ford truck, and some guys on the Ford forums have gotten parts caked in dust/dirt that are years old. Once again, depending on the part, it might not matter, but something to keep in mind. Recently I've seen two negative threads regarding rock auto pop up on the Ford forums... one regarding shipping, one regarding wrong parts being shipped and issues getting it returned/corrected.

I was referred to them from my home mechanic friend and have used them several times for my last car and my wife's Mercedes.
Everything worked well: motor mounts, radiator..filters |

I've been using them for years. One of my first places to check when buying parts. Just installed belts for my truck from them last week - cheaper shipped for both belts than the cheapest single belt from Autozone.
They do carry certain OEM parts as well. |
