Window Regulator Failure
So I read up on the threads on this to fix it myself. I saw the thread below but the pictures don't come up anymore.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394247 The youtube videos helped a lot but here are a few pointers and pics. - Rear passenger window made pop noise and cracking sound - window stayed down and wouldn't come up. I have 90k miles on my 2007. - culprit is the carrier piece that holds the cable ends with the springs. - you can buy the repair kit for $20 on ebay or look on amazon. - i did not unplug the motor and still had to reset the window operation (re-learn procedure) - use a razor blade to cut away at the adhesive for the foam - you need to slide the regulator bracket down (loosen 3 nuts) to remove the 1 torx screw off the motor. no clearance to get it out. - after you install the new pulley and cables, it will be very tight tension. difficult to snap the black pulley cover/holder into place. |

Do you have a link to the repair kit?
My rear drivers side is broke, and I haven't fixed it yet. I've watched the one youtube video that is about 25 minutes a few times skipping through it, and it seems like a somewhat easy job... Im not certain if this is my case, but most of the time those little green clips are what breaks... which should probably cost like $5 at most. A lot cheaper than the $125 regulator.

Just search e90 window regulator repair kit on ebay. Bunch of vendors sell it. It was my first time repairing this so it took me about 30min to get it removed and another hour to install the new parts.

I bought mine on amazon. It's actually an easy job. Hardest part was getting the door panel back on. If I had to do it again it'd probably only take 30-40 minutes
