How do you bleed system on M57 engine? Not related to thermostat, I've had the EGR cooler water system apart. Lost about 2 cups of coolant

Could it be the water/coolant pump at fault?

I would have your coolant system pressure tested. I had my water pump and thermostat replaced four months ago on my 2011 E90 335. I had the low coolant light come on three times in a month and had to add around 42 ounces of coolant mixture. Plus I observed operating temps nearly hitting 250 degrees on a 55 degree day. I wasn't seeing coolant leakage. Turned out my expansion tank was cracked and leaking. So this was replaced and I am back in business. Something else to check out.
