OT: Wives and car shopping arrhh
The on going saga of getting wife to replace her car continues.
We are definitely replacing her car before end of summer as I want it replaced. Previously we have short listed Fiesta ST 1 Series 120i Audi S1 Scirocco 2.0 TSI So anyhow, drags her out today to check out some Mini's, so another to add to the list. While out we also visited Vauxhall and Toyota, first one ruled out for crap staff and touchscreen, the latter for a 12 second 0-60 !! Also popped in to Peugeot, she likes the 208 GTI - 30 Anniversay edition due out. A large curve ball today though, was the X1 she liked it ... So all this small car thing and she likes a bloody SUV. I thought they were bad at shoe shopping, however cars are a nightmare. I am relaxing on my 2nd bottle of wine. Car shopping used to be such fun lol. One thing that was obvious from driving around today was the obvious changes in quality and feel of the various brands all for similar post discount pricing. Anyhow, any comments on the X1 or the Peugeot for that matter. |

We've just been through this. Originally thought a 1 series lci would be ideal for the Mrs, but the cost of them at the moment is disproportionately high. She liked the X1 too but it's being replaced as mentioned above. The mini she thought too small, and the rest (Peugeot, ford etc) were dismissed out of hand.
So she picked a Mazda 3 sport. I posted a bit about it on another thread but suffice to say she's very happy. |

Lol yeah 2nd bottle although the Stella is calling me
I still prefer the ST and that's my personal favourite. However, her money, her choice, if I picked something and she did not like it .... Spare room lol. unfortunately as she spent last 2 weeks driving the 330, she is now used to that power, level of kit and the autobox. No doubt it will be getting a few miles on it when I am away next month. Had not thought about a Mazda... Probably won't mention it lol. Damn sight easier closing my own. |

What in the hell are you moaning about. You got to spend all day wandering around car garages looking at cars.
You don't know you're born !!!!! For me. First the hairdressers Then wandering around merry hell clothes shopping. Start at debenhams then coast then super dry then etc etc. THEN. Back to bloody Debenhams for the first bloody dress. You got off lightly

I'm quite happy to drive it to Devon 5 times a year or so and whenever we take the dog out, and have used it for work a few times to keep the miles off mine, does good mpg. Crap boot space but the seats ratchet upright so the dog fits in alright and only 2 of us so back seats not an issue as unusable for people in the back with seats upright. Was told it's a 3 series touring chassis underneath, if true an s drive shouldn't be so different but never driven an s . |
